the fifth challenge is about gratitude.
the core of this lesson is about thanking the world around you.
three core principles of gratitude.
first principle
give thanks
Give thanks for the things in your world. Nothing in life is guaranteed so when you look at the things in your life, take a moment and reflect on what you are thankful for. Be as specific as you can when naming those things you’re grateful for. The best practice for giving thanks is to literally say thank you out loud for the things in your life.
second principle
ambitiously grateful
Sometimes the world teaches us to not be satisfied and to always want more. The idea of not being satisfied can be seen as ambition which serves the purpose of providing motivation. To be ambitious or to be unhappy from wanting more are two different things. No matter how much food you eat today, you’ll need to eat again. True gratitude is being thankful for the food you ate today instead of unhappy that you don’t have food ready for tomorrow. Your gratitude for today will fuel your drive for tomorrow.
third principle
let them know
When you have people in your life that you appreciate, let them know. When you have people go out of their way for you, show them love. The most memorable times that I’ve been shown love is when I get something handmade. The handwritten notes or creative gifts are the ones that I’ve kept my entire life. So when you really want someone to know how much you appreciate them, give them something they won’t let go of.
