fourth challenge lesson

the fourth challenge is about perspective.

the core of this lesson is about shifting perspective.

three core principles of perspective.

first principle

your reality is created by your perspective

The way that you perceive the world around you shapes how you think. For instance, if you perceive the world around you to be a beautiful place filled with opportunities then you are walking around looking for opportunities. If you perceive the world around you as a place filled with constant let downs then you are walking around looking for let downs.

If you perceive challenges as opportunities and a way to exercise then you are walking around looking for challenges.

second principle

your perspective is the angle you see from

Have you ever thought you knew something and then looked at that same thing from a different angle? Sometimes when two people experience the same thing, they see it from two different angles. For instance, some people see social media as a distraction, others see it as a tool, some see it as entertainment, others use it to build a business, and then some see it as a source of learning. There is no right or wrong angle, it’s just different perspectives that shape the way people utilize the same platform.

third principle

it depends

I’ll never forget a core lesson I learned in class. It depends. Any given solution to a problem can usually be solved when you see that it depends. The answer depends on the context. Solutions depend on the situation. Situations depend on the circumstances. When you answer questions with “it depends” then you are saying you need to consider as many perspective angles as you can see from. And when you do, you have a spectrum of context that allows you to see all sides.
